Some good, free downloads to help speed up my computer and make it more safe!!!?

Well.....i could really need some advice. At the moment i have got free off the internet, AVG antivirus, spy doctor and zone alarm. I have also purchased a registry mechanic.

My computer is getting slower and more annoying, can anyone suggest some really really good free programs i can download that'll perform miracles on my computer. I am looking for reliable programmes that will speed up my computer and clean it up a bit.

Could anyone also suggest some free security programmes or whatever that will make my computer more safe from things that could harm my computer.
